Bell, Urban C., counselor at law. Buffalo, and son of James S. and Hannah C. (Cusick) Bell, was born in Poestenkill,
N. Y., October 8. 1868. He removed to Bradfordville, Ky., with his parents. when three years of age, where he received
his first schooling. When he was seventeen years of age he entered Eureka College, at Eureka, Ill., from which
institution he was graduated with honors. He then determined to study law and entered the office of Charles A.
Barnes at Jacksonville, Ill., and was admitted to the bar in 1891. He immediately began the practice of his profession
at Mt. Sterling. Ill., where he remained for two years, when he removed to Buffalo and entered the Buffalo Law
School and was graduated in 1894 and admitted to practice in the State of New York in 1895. Mr. Bell has been associated
in active practice with the firm of Ingram & Mitchell since the organization of that firm until January 1,
1877, when he formed a partnership with Henry D. Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald is one of the best known attorneys
in Buffalo, having been in active practice for more than twenty years, both civil and criminal; both members of
the firm are practitioners in the United States courts. They occupy offices at 685 to 693 Ellicott Square Building.
