Blackman, W. M., Lancaster, born in Lancaster in 1844, is a son of Leonard, and grandson of William Blackman,
who settled in Lancaster in 1810. Mr. Blackman has always been prominent in the public affairs of the town, having
been highway commissioner for thirteen years and in 1892 was elected on the Board of Supervisors. He moved into
the village in 1876, where he has since carried on the coal and wood business.
