Gardiner, Harry C., Buffalo, was born in the town of Angelica, Allegany county, N. Y., June 9, 1862. His parents
were Daniel D. and Julia L. (Porter) Gardiner; the former was for thirty-nine years treasurer of the county of
Allegany, dying in February, 1893. Mr. Gardiner was educated in the district schools and at the Rochester Business
University, from which he was graduated in 1882. After leaving school he was employed for several months by H.
H. Warner & Co., as a traveling salesman, later was connected with a wholesale furniture house, and for two
years was inspector of construction for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. In the spring of 1892 he entered the service
of Cockburn Brothers, concrete contractors, of Buffalo, and two years later became a partner in the business. In
November, 1890, Mr. Gardiner married Cora M. Bronner, of Buffalo, and they have one son, Daniel D.
