Eden when he was a child, where he was educated in the district schools and was a farmer by occupation. August

the battles with his company. He was married twice, first in 1867 to Elizabeth Schweibert, and they had three children,
two of whom survive: Alfred C. and Ella E. Mrs. Glasser died in 1890, and for his second wife he married Katherine
Philiippi in 1892. Mr. Glasser is a member of James Ayers Post of Angola, N. Y., No. 202, G. A. R., Dept. New York.
Mrs. Glasser's grandfather, John Phillippi, was a soldier with Napoleon in the celebrated retreat from Moscow.
