Salisbury, Mrs. C. E., Hamburg. -Charles W. Salisbury was born in Montgomery county, N. Y., August 25, 1832,
and was educated there in the district schools. He was a clerk in a general store. He came to Buffalo in 1855 and
was bookkeeper for C. F. Mills & Co. August 15, 1858, he married Cynthia E. Osborn of Hamburg, and they had
four children: Elmer E. (who died in his fifteenth year), Maurice O. (married Ella B. Gifford), Warren F. (married
Elizabeth B. Odell), and Jennie A. (married H. Arnold Pierce), a practicing physician of Hamburg. Mrs. Salisbury's
father, Maurice Osborn, was born in Connecticut, November 27, 1814. He was educated in the schools of that day
and came to this State when he was twenty-one years old, where he was one of the best farmers in the town April
16, 1840, he married Laura Hawkins, of Hamburg, and they had five children.
