Wilson, William F., Buffalo, was born January 11, 1845, in Chicago, Ill., where he received a public school
education. For two years he was assistant bookkeeper in a wholesale drug house in his native city, and for a short
time held a position with the C., B. & Q. Railroad. He was afterwards cashier of the Merchants Despatch Transportation
Company for seven years, chief clerk of the Erie and North Shore Line in Chicago and Detroit for six years, an
agent for other fast freight lines in St. Paul for thirteen years (1879-92). In 1892 he removed to Buffalo as general
manager of the West Shore Fast Freight Line, which position he now holds. Mr. Wilson was married May 21, 1872,
to Ida A., daughter of J. S. Davis, of Rochester, N. Y., and they have three children: Ida M. (Mrs. M. J. Pike),
of New York city, Frank D. and Roy O.
