John D. Gillett, who was born in Delaware County, N. Y., in January, 1798, came to the Genesee country in 1812.
When he was 18 years old he married Cornelia W. Bronson, who was born in 1804, and was only 13 years of age at
the time of her marriage. They had ro children, of whom three daughters are dead, and seven survive, viz.: Thomas,
Gideon B., William F., George D., Lucy, Cornelia, and Adeline. William F. Gillett enlisted in July, 1861, in Co.
A, 85th Inf. N. Y. Vols., reenlisted in January, 1864. and was in the following battles: Siege of Yorktown, Williamsburg,
Fair Oaks, Gaines Mills, Newburn, N. C., Roanoke Island, and Little Washington. He was discharged in July, 1865,
and now resides near Pavilion Center. He is a bachelor. His mother is living in Stafford. aged 86 years. George
E., son of George D. is station agent at Pavilion, and his daughter Florence A. at Pavilion Center.
