Eli Carr was born May 25, 1834, one mile east of Pavilion, and is a son of Richmond and Rosanna (Perry) Carr,
natives of Rhode Island and Saratoga County. They came to Genesee County in 1816, and took up 157 acres of land.
They reared six sons and two daughters, viz.: Livingston. Sylvester, Sallie A., Eli, Wellington, Edwin, of Kansas,
Calafornia, and Arvid. They belong to the Baptist Church. Mr. Carr received a common school education, and lived
on a farm until April, 1872, when he moved to the village. He married Jane L., daughter of Levi Carr, of Saratoga
County, and has one son, George D.
