David Filkins was born in Dutchess County, N. Y., in 1807; and came with his parents to Pavilion in 1809. About
1834 he married Jemima Peck, who was born in Lyme, Conn. They had five children, namely: Angeline M., Caroline
P., Sarah B.. Jerome H., and Albert D. Jerome H. was born in this town November 7, 1839 He was educated in the
public schools and is a farmer by occupation. He married twice, first, April 14, 1864, Emily O. Stevens, who died
December 24, 1865, and second, June 23, 1868, Mary C., third daughter of the late Rev. Jesse Elliott, formerly
of Churchville, Monroe County. They had two children, viz.: Jessie M., born October 25, 1869, and Angela E., born
August 30, 1877, both of whom are deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Filkins reside in the village of Bethany Center.
