Galette B. Gilbert, M. D., was born in Darien, July 24, 1845, and received his education in the common schools and at Alden Academy, with two years at Ann Arbor University. He then studied medicine at the Buffalo Medical College, where he graduated in 1868. He began practice in Wyoming County, where he remained three years, and practiced in Rochester in 1872-73, where he also conducted a drug store. In the fall of 1873 he located in Manila, and in 1877 came to Byron Center, where he has built up an extensive and successftil practice. He is a progressive man in his profession, giving all his spare time to study, and is well up in the improved methods of practice. He is a member of the Genesee County Medical Society, In 1868 he married Mary M. Moore, of Wyoming County, and they have two sons.
