Shadrack Lent was born in Montgomery County, N. Y., June 2, 7802, and came to Genesee County with his parents
when 10 years old. He heard distinctly the reports of the guns of the contending armies at the battle of Buffalo,
in the War of 1812. They first located in Pavilion. He married Prudence A. Dixon, of Bethany, formerly of Chatham,
Conn. They had five children, namely: Lucy A., Charles H., William B., George V. N., and Charlotte E. George V.
N., born August 10, 1841, was educated in the public schools, and is a fruit grower and farmer. January 29, 1879,
he married Minnie O. Burton, of Cambridge, Mass., by whom he had one daughter, Harriet A., born January 6, 1883.
Mrs. Lent died February 14, 1887. Mr. Lent's sister, Charlotte E., is keeping house for him. He resides on road
