Charles Leonard was born in Sangerfield, Oneida County, where he lived until 1852, when he came to South Byron,
and kept a livery stable and saloon for three years. He was a farmer for three years in Le Roy. In April, 1865,
he came to Byron Center, and has kept the hotel there since that time, and has also carried the mail from South
Byron to Byron Center.
