John C. Greene, a real estate dealer and a native of Batavia, was born in 1856, a son of Edwin and Marietta (Ellsworth) Greene, from Eastern, N. Y. He was raised here and followed farming for some years. In 1884 he commenced dealing in real estate, establishing loans, and representing insurance companies, to all of which he gives his attention, and has secured a large patronage. He represents the Glens Falls, Girard of Philadelphia, the Milwaukee Mechanics' and Employers', the Liability Assurance Corporate, and the Limited of London, and does a large loan and real estate business, at 61 East Main street. He is a member of the K. of P. and A. O. U. W.
