Allen D. Lincoln, youngest son of Sylvester, who was the fourth settler in the town of Bethany, was born in
Bethany, December 6, 1821. He received a public school and academic education, and until recently was a farmer
by occupation. He is now a retired farmer, residing on Jackson Street, Batavia. March 28, 1855, he married Sarah
E., oldest daughter of Morris Garton, of Wyoming County, N. Y. They have two children, viz.: Wallis G., born January
3, 1862, and Kate F., born October 1, 1871. November 2, 1884, Wallis G. married Monica McNerhany, of Washington,
D. C., and they have two children, Harry G. and Margaret. He is a telegraph operator in the Western Union office
in Chicago, Ill. Kate F. is a music teacher and resides at home with her parents.
