John Moore, a native of Columbia County, N. Y., came to Batavia in 1847, where he died at the age of 72 years. He married Cherry Sparks, daughter of Benjamin, of Massachusetts, and their children were Abigail, Betsev, Louisa, Clarissa, Sabery, John, Benjamin, Andrew, George, and Michael. The latter came to Batavia in 1836, from Lima, N. Y. He married, first, Sarah Ward, and second, Nancy Ward. His children by his second wife are Franklin, Charles, Elmer, Newton, Herbert, Watson, and Libbie L. They now reside near East Pembroke in the town of Batavia. Herbert Moore is a merchant at East Pembroke. Libbie L. married Cash M., son of Edwin and Lucinda (Curtis) Durham, of Batavia, and is now a resident of East Pembroke.
