Fountain, Norton, p. o. Oakfield, N. Y., was born in Mendon, Monroe county, N. Y., November 11, 1833. His father
was a native of Orleans county, and married Pauline Davis, daughter of Martin Davis; their children were John,
Robert, Jerome, Howard, Caroline, Adelaide and Norton. Mr. Fountain died in 1861. Norton Fountain was educated
in Macedon Center and at the Rochester Business College, after which he taught school three years. Mr. Fountain
is one of the progressive farmers of Alabama and a man of excellent character and of sterling integrity.
