Ingraham, George S., son of Alfred and Lucinda (Watkins) Ingraham, was born in the town of Springwater, Livingston
county. N. Y., October 18, 1828. When he was two years of age his parents removed to Wayland, Steuben county, where
he was educated in the common schools. He lived at home until twenty-three years old, when he took up the carpenter
trade, which he followed for ten years. In July, 1853, Mr. Ingraham married Amelia Smith, and their children are
Mary, wife of Charles Neal; Ira Harmon, Albert and Edwin H. Mr. Ingraham's father was a soldier in the war of 1812;
his grandfather was in the Revolutionary war. Mr. Ingraham resides in Darien.
