Thomas, David G., p. o. Alexander, N. Y., son of George P. and Mary (Thomas) Thomas,
was born in the town of Cuba, Allegany county, N. Y., May 23, 1856. His parents were natives of England and came
to this country in 1838, settling in Oneida county, N. Y. When David G. was five years of age they removed to Rushford,
where he lived for several years, being engaged in farming and the manufacture of cheese. In the spring of 1885
he removed to Alexander, where he conducted the cheese business until 1895. In 1894 the firm of W. E. Moulton &
Co was organized, he being the company; they are large shippers of grain and dealers in beans and produce. Mr.
Thomas was married November 21, 1883, to Lettie E., daughter of W. H. G. and Freelove (Calkins) Post; they have
two children: Oel, born February 7, 1886, and Bertha, born June 25, 1888. Politically Mr. Thomas is a Democrat,
but has never aspired to public office. He is a member of the Select Knights and Sylvian Lodge No. 479, I. O. O.
F. Mr. Thomas is a man of excellent business ability and is an honored and respected citizen.
