Byrnes, Daniel, was born in the city of Cork, Ireland, about the year 1824. He was a graduate of Dublin College
and came to the United States when twenty-one years old and was a farmer in Rensselaer county many years. The family
came to Mechanicville about the year 1892. January 7, 1853, he married Mary Kane, formerly of county Lathrun, Ireland,
and they had eleven children; two died young; the others are John. Nora, Daniel, jr., M. Augustine, William, James,
Mary, Andrew, Katherine T. John married Margaret Gorman and they had two children, Jennie and Margaret. Nora married
John Corr and they have three children, Anna, Kathleen and Harry. M. Augustine married Madeline Beck. William married
Agnes Crowley. James married Mary Sheehan; they had one son, J. Sheehan. The family are members of St. Paul's Roman
Catholic church. Both father and mother are living at this date, 1898.
