Dunlap, John J., M. D., son of Jackson and Mary J. (Clark) Dunlap, was born in the county of Monaghan, Ireland,
August 2, 1818. The doctor's parents were both of Scotch descent. His father was at an early age appointed by the
government as stipendiary magistrate, and held the office up to 1827, the time of his death. He received his early
education and studied medicine in his native country, and in 1840 came to the United States, where he continued
his medical education in the Universities of Buffalo and New York, graduating from the latter institution in 1854,
and for the past forty years has practiced medicine in Waterford and vicinty. Dr. Dunlop is a member of the New
York Medical Association and of the Medical Society of Troy and vicinity. He is also a member of Clinton Lodge
No. 140, F. & A. M.; of Chapter No. 169, R. A. M. Waterford, and of Apollo Commandery No. 15, K. T., of Troy,
N. Y.
