Barnett, John A., M. D., physician and surgeon, was born in Potsdam, N Y., in July, 1867. He was educated in
the public schools of his native village and the Normal School. He began the study of medicine at the Ann Arbor
Medical College and received his degree in 1890. He then became connected with the State Hospital at Utica, N.
Y., as assistant physician and was afterward appointed assistant physician at the State Hospital at Ogdensburg,
where he remained for three years. At this date he removed to Watertown and began the practice of his profession,
where he has since resided. Dr. Barnett is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society, also the City Society.
He was for two years one of the board of health and on the board of pensions for three years. He was married in
June, 1893, to Bell B.. daughter of the late Robert F. Lowrey of Ogdensburg, N Y.
