Eckhoff, John N., a native of Germany, was born May 31, 1857. His education was obtained in his native country
after which he was apprenticed to the blacksmith trade at which he was engaged until 1879, when he emigrated to
this country and settled in New York, where he remained until 1885, when he removed to Watertown and soon found
employment at his trade. Mr. Eckhoff now occupies a part of the brick factory of the Harmon Machine Co., where
he does all kinds of heavy blacksmithing and regularly employs from three to five workmen. In December, 1881, he
married Mary Wallace, a native of Belfast, Ireland. Mr. Eckhoff is a prominent member of the Royal Arcanum and
I. O. O. F.
