Hanlon, Patrick, was born in Waterford, Ireland, December 19, 1826. His parents belonged to the prosperous class
of farmers, and the family was noted throughout the region for the patriotic impulses of its members. Mr. Hanlon
emigrated to Quebeck, Can., in 1855, where be was employed on the docks for a short time, when he removed to Autwerp,
N. Y. He was variously employed until 1862, when he removed to the town of Pamelia, Jefferson county, N. Y., and
in 1872 bought his present farm consisting of one hundred and fifty~seven acres, where he has since been successfully
engaged in farming. In November, 1857, he married Helen Hanabra, who was also a native of Ireland, by whom he had
three children: John, Mary and Philip. Mrs. Hanlon died June 19, 1890.
