Rhines, Foster P., was born at Lafargeville, Jefferson county, N. Y., December 12, 1842. In 1856 he began the
milling business at Lafargeville and in 1861 removed to Watertown, where he entered the service of Eli Farwell
& Co., in whose employ he remained until 1878, when he, in company with F. R. Farwell, succeeded the firm of
Eli Farwell & Co., and has since been engaged in that business. This mill is now known as the Crescent Hungarian
Flouring Mills, with a capacity of 200 barrels per clay. Mr. Rhines is president of the present corporation and
gives his personal supervision to the details of the business and is highly esteemed by all with whom he has dealings.
